This year has definitely started out in full speed.
I was talking to Heinz about it and I told him that I believe I've had two amazing Januaries in my life. The first one was January 2007 when Heinz and I got married.
Then there is January 2013. It's only been one month and this year is shaping up to be more (much more) than I expected.
If you've been following this blog you may know that I recently came back from my YTT in Costa Rica. If you are new to this blog well, now you know.
When I came back I approached my yoga studio (of course by "my" I mean the studio I go to) and talked to them about incorporating a yoga class for runners since, after all, that is my story with yoga.
Long story short. I did a demo class last December and joined their staff this January.
Since the year started I've been teaching almost everyday. Whether at my studio or in private classes.
I am so happy. So so happy.
I've been taking three showers a day, eating mostly avocados and quinoa (easy and delicious to make and digest), my toes are peeling off from the yoga mat friction and I only want to nap in between classes BUT I am loving every single second of it.
I didn't end up teaching yoga for runners and actually I myself haven't been running.
My body is craving it so bad but this month I decided to save my energies for my yoga classes.
After I get somewhat used to my yoga teaching schedule I will hit the road again. I really miss running, it's been a month since my last run.
You may figure out that I'm not that good at multitasking.
Honestly, I am not.
Not only do I suck at it but I really dislike it. I don't understand why we need to be doing more than one thing at a time.
Things you wont see me doing:
- Talking on my phone while eating
- Eating and driving, maybe I'll have a coffee...maybe.
- Texting and talking
- Watching TV and "studying"
- I can run and talk though but NOT on my phone or myself (out loud of course)
Jokes aside...I know, I get it. I need to be able to grow as a yoga teacher without having to put everything else on hold. That is how life works right? I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a blogger, a runner, a yoga teacher, a friend, the best aunt in the world and a karaoke enthusiast...all of these and more!
If I am completely honest I have to say that I do enjoy focusing on one thing at a time but I also know that I need to work on balancing everything a little bit better. I hope I find the perfect meeting point where I can do a lot of things but still enjoy each one.
Balance...we all need it both on and off our yoga mats.
